Women of Faith - United Methodist Women
Our Purpose
“The organized unit of Women of Faith (UMW) shall be a Community of women whose PURPOSE is to know god and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of MISSION through participation in the Global ministries of the church.”
According to the Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church, it is stated that “In every local church there shall be an organized unit of United Methodist Women”. Our local unit is directly related to the District, (Spoon River) and Conference (Illinois Great River). Membership is open to ANY and ALL Women, to any woman who indicates her desire to participate in over 100 Global Missions of the church. Two Missions that our IGR Conference supports are Cunningham Children’s Home in Urbana and the Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House in East St. Louis. For 150 years UMW has been living Faith, Hope and Love in Action.

Prayer Shawls
Do you know someone who needs a prayer shawl? Perhaps you know of a friend or family member undergoing a physical or emotional challenge or someone who has experienced a personal loss or needs a tangible reminder that there are people who care, and that God continuously wraps each one of us in His endless love!
These Prayer Shawls are lovingly made by members of the congregation. Please take a Prayer Shawl to someone in need of prayer to remind them that they are loved.
